Welcome to my site!
Some of you may know this site in its old form as a repository for my Masters dissertation on John Holland's ECHO model of a complex adaptive system. It's still here and can be accessed by pressing the jECHO link above. All of the references are collected together on their own page to make it easy for anyone who wants to access the ECHO literature quickly.
Its time to move on and take my thinking into new areas of Systems Science and hopefully provide some insight into where the best untouched land still remains to be ploughed.
My nature is to be a generalist rather than a narrow specialist and I have happily wandered down many diverse intellectual pathways. I will have a lot to say about different approaches to systems thought and what they offer to a world that seems intent on spinning out of control. I am also on constant lookout for unintended consequences, nonlinearities, discontinuities and things that just plain don't make sense that are either overlooked or lapped up by the mass of befuddled humanity.
My main requirements for a topic are that it be challenging and rewarding, with plenty of nonlinear and counter-intuitive surprises for those with an open mind.
